Secrets of Vespertino by Rhino the 3rd November at 18h00
-In a Youtube live, Rhino will present the secrets of Vespertino the racing game for Amstrad CPC on Saturday 3rd November at 18h00.
Some informations are already available, summarized by Xenomorph. It's finished at 98%. There are 5.000 sprites which gives a very good animations of cars and sense of speed. Each car handles differently and drives differently. Batman’s car was shown : the Batmobile… there are tons of stages, you can buy parts or upgrades for each car, and 3 musicians worked on the game: J.A. Martin, Narcisound (who comes from the C64 scene) and Raft, who have created a whole soundtrack with lots of different tracks. Soon there will be a sort of “Kickstarter” to fund the cartridge production, with various tiers/rewards. The game is a Spanish-French co-production, since the cartridge is being designed and manufactured by Toto. It’s a new design, Rhino mentioned the build shown yesterday takes up about 1.8 Mb, but the final version will be between 3.5 and 4 Mb. Therefore, the cartridge will come with around 4 megs of storage to hold all the graphics and a chip that provides 512KB of RAM to the Amstrad CPC, any CPC : old CPC, CPC+ and GX4000 ! A neat detail: if you press a button while plugging the cartridge in, the game won’t load, but you can use that memory expansion on your CPC. There will be a digital download too, and lastly, no AI was used in the game.
